The new CD is starting to take shape. We have 9 songs done with 3 to go. I just updated the main site with a sample of Megadroid. This is another one that features guest keyboardist Kevin Purrone and the sample highlights one of his solos. I'll add updates to this thread as the CD nears completion. Eventually I might get rid of the "news" sections of the main site and just post stuff in the forum.
Let us know what you think of the new sample.

The drums for the title track Microtopia are now done. I'm hoping to finish up the rest of the parts this week.

The title track is now finished. For some reason, this one didn't come together as easily as the others. There were lots of little mixing problems to overcome. I'll add a sample to the music page later today.
We've also started to experiment with sampling Bruce's kit. We will eventually release a free sample library along with an NN-XT patch for Reason. The idea is to draw more people to the site, and supply all the homebrew shredders/songwriters with some convincing (hopefully) drum sounds.

I had to redo Microtopia. I remixed the drums and rerecorded all the rhythm guitar tracks. I'm a lot happier with it now. Also, the drums for the last two tracks are finished. I'm trying to get this whole thing done ASAP. We are also going to release a sample library for Bruce's drums. It will come with an NN-XT patch for all you Reason users out there. It will be free!

Holy crap. Did you really finish that on my birthday (july 10th)? Well happy birthday to me lol. Seriously though, it is a pregnant dogin album. In fact, I think I'll listen to it right now-ish. I was thinking about making one of the songs my ring tone too, although I'm not sure as to which yet.

So I tried to make part of the title track my ring tone, but Verizon has aids or something and it won't work, although I've gotten it to work in the past. Anyone have any idea as to how I could make it my ring tone some other way than emailing it to my phone or recording on my phone?

tim, all i am gonna say is. www.phonezoo.comyou just have to upload the mp3 on to their site, and it will give you a window up to 30 seconds so you can pick which part of the song you want to use and then it gets sent to your phone as a PIX MSG. and also its very very free

There's a nice review of Microtopia at Magic Starlight 'Zine: magicstarlightzine.blogspot.com/2008/09/killbot-zero-microtopia-cd-cd-review.htmlIt will also be reviewed in the next issue of Progression Magazine. It's a printed quarterly magazine from the UK (i think) so getting a subscription here in the states is like $25 per year or something. Too bad, sounds like a cool mag. I hope they like us! -Chris
