Here's an image of the "Focus Keys". You can buy stickers to stick on your keyboard, or even a "Pro Tools Keyboard" that has them on there. Click the little [a...z] button to enable Command Focus Keys. -C

hey chris my friend tim has reason and pro tools, and he doesnt know how to use reason and pro tools at the same time. The extent of my answer was that he had to do with Rewire, I just didnt know how to explain it to him further then that! can you tell me?

Sure!
1. Start ProTools
2. Create a new Stereo Track
3. Take a look at the new Stereo Track on the Mixer.
4. At the top of the channel strip is where you can put real-time plugin-in effects. Reason should show up there in your list of effects. You put it on that channel just like you would D-Verb or something.
5. After you put Reason on that channel, it will start automatically.
6. There will be a little Rewire dialog box that you can use to route the output (probably just send it to L/R main out).
7. Now that both programs are running, the time-lines will be in sync. When you press play on one program the other will play too.
8. You can toggle between the programs by using [alt + tab] on a windows machine or [apple + tab] on a Mac.
